Grace in Small Things

  1. A coworker asking “So how’s your Save-the-World thing going?” without sarcasm.
  2. Having a not-too-depressing answer to the question.
  3. Winning stuff, both theoretically deserved awards and random giveaway stuff.
  4. The former references a “Rising Star” honor the CASA program is apparently bestowing upon me.
  5. The latter means I get a free facial this weekend thanks to dropping a business card in a fishbowl in a coffee shop a few months ago.
  6. Bonus – that reminds me, I never settled on or submitted a design for the business cards I won…but the email doesn’t give an expiration date.  Must remember to not accidentally forfeit free stuff!

I presume that all means the save the world campaign is going well.

  2. Relatively so, yes. Tis a pity I can't actually save the world and all, but seeing nearly two year old medically fragile twins placed in a great foster home with a foster mom who'd like to adopt them…well, it's not nothing. I'll take it! It's still just supremely unsettling to recommend the termination of parental rights, even knowing it's the obviously right thing to be done.
