Arriving Tomorrow

I only got a couple of decent photos yesterday when we went to visit him, but he’s a cutie! He’s a beagle-black Lab mix, the mighty Beaglador! I think we’ve decided to change his name after all. Beethoven doesn’t make much sense without his brother Mozart, and frankly he’s just not that dignified. He’s young enough (about a year and a half) that I don’t think it’ll make much differnce to him. We’re leaning toward Dexter. Other ideas welcome!

He seems to be a little shy, and pretty attached to the employees at the shelter. He was definitely interested in the other dogs, but not aggressive, and he doesn’t seem to be a barker, which is perfect. He also seems to be good with little kids; the owner’s three year old was toddling around, petting and handing out hugs. I’m going to pick him up tomorrow, and we can’t wait to get to know him better!

Also the whole being deaf problem would not be a good idea to plant in a dog’s head. I was not overjoyed with the listening abilities of my former dog (he had good ears…but hearing is not listening).

Excellent point. Our family’s first dog, Sally, could hear a mouse fart under the shed but not me screaming incessantly for her to shut up and get back in the house when she was barking nonstop in the back yard. Ahh…dogs.
