Must Rant

Sick of:

  • Caring what people think
  • Wanting people to do things of their own volition when they obviously won’t do it until I hold a gun to their head
  • Being offended by offhand comments (not comments made here, by the way)
  • People that can’t follow directions
  • Suggestions for ways to fill my time
  • Trying to be a mature adult

Is it fucking Friday yet?

Ahh Friday. Bad day? A specific schmooley in mind?

Just people. The people I love the most and the people I hate the most. You know that invaluable thing that really good friends do? Hearing the truth really hurts sometimes. And when they are the same people that you usually cry to about stuff, but you know they’ve got to be sick of hearing you cry [throws up hands]….I’m just out of outlets.

    You wish it was Friday!

I wish it were an alternate universe. What do we know about string theory? Is there a parallel existence right next to me where everything makes sense, there’s nothing but calmness, fashion magazines, and polite jokes?

Oh crap, you’re starting to remind me of The Gunslinger novel (minus the calmness, fashion mags, and polite jokes). It’s all about infinite size beyond our comprehension. Thus, each particle could conceivably be a universe of another universe blah, blah, blah… Just reminds me of the time I wigged out on mescaline.

wow. a drug I haven’t done. wonders never cease!

I just finished up the series of novels that makes up the Ultimate Collection of the Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy…very very funny, and it spends a bit of time with parallel universes at the end.My dad is much smarter than me and knows a hell of a lot more than I do about physics, so I usually try to talk to him about things like string theory. I wish I could say I get it. But it seems more and more scientists are subscribing to the multiverse hypothesis(es) where we are in but one of many universes. I guess what would define a universe are the physical constants. I could go on for hours without actually explaining a damn thing so I’ll stop.I saw you’re almost done with Anna K…I just started Dostoevsky’s “The Idiot” 🙂

Maybe I should right a blog about that evening to commemorate a decade ago. Wow, seems like just yesterday I was in middle school cheering…wait, that was you!

Let me know how you like that one. Right now, I’M the Idiot. Grrr. I love the guy who does the “Nova Science Now”s on PBS. He makes string theory seem almost fathomable. Is that a word?

Since I’ve never heard of string theory, I decided to whip out the trusty I induced a nasty flashback of me being a single DNA and breaking down into tiny particles until there was seemingly nothing else to break down but then it breaks down again quickly becoming unfathomable until you think you’re dead. True story. No more string theory.
